Going Green and Living Green
I think we can all more-or-less agree that the Earth desperately needs plenty of good, healthy
input from the greatest number of us immediately and urgently if we are to avert catastrophe not too far down the
line.
Globalization has made
the world shrink and this means, in a very real sense, that we are all in this together. Global warming,
climate change, storms and floods, droughts, melting polar caps, diminishing natural resources, infectious
diseases, and the like affect us all in some way or another.
We are all accountable and really need to conceptualize and live our lives, not as
separate individuals whose actions only affect those immediately around us, but rather as active participants in
the interconnectedness of everything here on Earth. What we do matters; it has ramifications that ripple wide.
Essentially connection and not separation is what
characterizes us humans. The daily bump and grind often make it seem as if it is me and my
nearest and dearest against the world, and that is how many of us get to experience our lives. This is an
inaccurate perception of what is actually happening because we are part of that bigger picture and, more
importantly, we are not subservient to the bigger picture, we are co-creative participants in it and of
it.
That can of insecticide spray you use to rout the pesky mosquitoes or the decision to use the car
today and not my bicycle because I feel lazy or to buy out-of-season fruit that has been transported great
distances from the north or south - all these seemingly inconsequential little actions really do count
because millions of others are also doing exactly what you are doing. The effect is cumulative and deadly
in its intent.
What we choose to do every day has an impact - either good or bad - on the
planet and that makes it imperative that we are conscious of our actions so that
we choose to do the right thing - even when laziness or expense urges us to do what is easiest or
cheapest.
Going Green and Living Green: I feel it is vital for us sooner
rather than later to go green and embrace life as co-creative participants in our global matrix and the world
will become a better place.

There are many informative and instructive books on green issues available these days. If you have
no idea where to start with your personal greening project, the Green Living Kit may be a good place for you to start because it is full of really useful
practical ways to go green. A further advantage is that it is downloadable immediately after you
have bought it online.
Incidentally, if you buy a product from one of the links on this page, I will be paid a small
